Prior Lake officially proclaimed the second week of May as “Youth Appreciation Week” during a City Council meeting led by Mayor Kirt Briggs. The proclamation recognized local youth as “concerned, knowledgeable and contributing partners” in the community and praised their accomplishments and service.

The declaration also highlighted the longstanding “Youth Appreciation Week” program promoted by Optimist International since the 1950s, while emphasizing support for local businesses and community involvement.

The proclamation encouraged recognition of young residents whose efforts “help make Prior Lake residents proud of our community.”
