Prior Lake's Night to Unite

Celebrate with us on Tuesday, August 5, 2025!

City staff will visit parties throughout the evening, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

All party organizers will receive an email prior to the 5th indicating what time to expect your city staff visit. Each registered party will have a fun city vehicle visit whether it's a police squad car, city plow truck, or a fire engine! Please note, the Fire Department has a limited number of trucks and are not able to visit all registered parties. We do our best to have fire visit different areas of the city each year.

Our 2025 Donation Recipient is ROCK - Reaching Our Community's Kids!

ROCK serves children at all schools in the Prior lake area and has been fortunate to have great volunteers and community partners to help further this mission.

ROCK provides Power Packs, which are sent home with students in backpacks that include: 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 snacks, a fruit, and a vegetable. They offer the Power Pack Program to all families who feel they could benefit from these food items.

Please consider making a donation for their Power Packs or a monetary donation at www.rockmn.org.

Their highest items of need are:

EZ Mac n Cheese
Granola bars
Vegetables (non-perishable)
Individual fruit cups
Oatmeal

Donations can be collected at your Night to Unite party and delivered to the Prior Lake Police Department from August 4th - 13th.

About Night to Unite

Started by the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association, a statewide, non-profit organization of citizens, law enforcement officers, and crime prevention specialists, Night to Unite was created to promote, develop and advance crime prevention programs.

Traditionally, community neighborhoods throw potluck parties, BBQs or ice-cream socials with their neighbors. Many party organizers invite city staff members to join in fun which means they may have police officers, firefighters, public works employees, the Mayor, council members and other city employees stop into visit. Kids and adults are able to get a closer look at police squads, fire trucks, plow trucks, and other city vehicles. The program seeks to strengthen neighborhood and community partnerships, raise awareness about drug and crime prevention, visit about future and current city projects, and just get to know your local government in a fun social setting. Citizens can feel free to ask questions about the city, projects, goals, and how everything works. We want to create an environment for citizen's to feel comfortable visiting with us and know that were are here to support them and make this a great place to live!
