Contact our property & evidence technician at 952-447-9867 to see if the department may have your property. The technician will ask for some identifying information in the form of a case number or full name - this helps to see what items we have of yours. If the items are approved to be released, you can schedule a time over the phone to come to the Prior Lake Police Department and pick it up.
You must bring a valid form of government issued ID (passport, driver's license, identification card, permit, etc.) to verify your identity as the owner of the item(s). If you do not have a government issued ID, our technician will work with you to confirm ownership in an alternative way.
Upon arrival at the police department, let the front desk know you have a property return appointment and our technician will be out with the items shortly.
Once everything is verified, simply sign the items back into your possession and enjoy the rest of your day! The whole process should take less than ten minutes.
Make sure you arrive at your scheduled time as our evidence technician is one of the only people with access to your items and does not want to miss you. If the selected time no longer works, simply call and reschedule the appointment.
