The City has 12 Canoe/Kayak Storage Racks that are located at Sand Point Beach and 6 at Watzl's Beach. These racks are available to be reserved for the summer at a fee. The season runs from April 1st to October 15th. 

Rack location assignments are made in order of registration, filling from the bottom racks to the top. Top rack is 72” off the ground. Find the canoe kayak rental policy here.

The Kop Family Community garden is located within Lakefront Park. There are 50 total plots in the garden, all are 10’ x 20’ in size. Plots can be rented for a season, May - October.

Open air picnic shelters are available at a variety of parks. Some shelters are available for private reservations, for a fee. 

Rental shelters include Lakefront Park (two shelters and bandshell), Memorial Park (two shelters), and Sand Point Beach (two shelters). Find the rental policy online here. Reservations are accepted in the current calendar year.

The City of Prior Lake offers daytime use only slips at Sand Point Beach and Watzl’s Beach on Prior Lake. There are 16 seasonal rental slips at Watzl's Beach. Access to all slips is available daily from 5AM-10PM ONLY. No person is permitted in the park, or at a boat slip, outside of park hours. The City of Prior Lake has two accesses on Prior Lake available for public use: Sand Point Beach (14377 Crest Ave. NE) and DeWitt Ave. (16800 Dewitte Ave. SW). Each public access is owned and operated by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and has a limited number of public trailer parking spots. Please be aware that many city streets surrounding the accesses have limited street parking available, and in some cases trailer parking is limited and/or prohibited.

Seasonal Slip Rental 

The City has 16 boats slips designated for seasonal rental at Watzl’s Beach. Reservations begin the first business day of each year. Each household is allowed to rent one boat slip at any one time. Boat slips are available only for the watercraft listed on the permit. There is a gate on the dock which is locked, no one other than the renters and City Staff will have the code for the gate. Seasonal boat slips will be available each spring after the boat slips are installed. This installation will take place as staff time and weather conditions allow after complete ice out. Renters will be notified by email when slip use is available. All boats must be removed from the water by October 12, 2025. Find the full boat slip rental policy here.
