Financial Aid for Recreation Programs

The Parks & Recreation Department recently received a generous donation from the Prior Lake Savage Optimist Club to support our financial aid fund.  

Financial Aid is available for qualifying residents with financial limitations. Aid is granted on a first come first served basis and as funds are available. Applications must be received before the program registration deadline. Applications must be accompanied by an educational benefit letter from the school district. 

Prior Lake residents with a financial need may be eligible for fee assistance for up to 50% of their program cost, up to $250 per year. Financial Aid recipients may be withdrawn from a program and become ineligible for future assistance due to “no showing” and/or excessive absences. 

Refunds on Financial Aid assisted registrations will be issued only if the city cancels the program and the prorated amount retained is less than the discounted fee paid. In that case, the applicant will receive the difference.
